To get started, you'll be asked a series of questions about yourself, your home, and your existing heating system. Based on your responses, we'll determine whether you qualify for a free boiler and will apply for a boiler grant on your behalf.

After you've been approved and submitted your claim, we will connect you with an approved boiler installer. They will contact you to ask a few questions and then schedule a free survey of your home.
New Boiler Installed
Once the survey is complete and the grant funding is approved, the installation of your new boiler will commence by a team of accredited installers. We aim for work to begin in 10 days.

What is the LA Flex Scheme?
Local Authority Flexible Eligibility, also known as LA Flex, is a branch of the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. LA Flex gives local councils and authorities the power to set the eligibility criteria in their area for the ECO scheme.
Participating local authorities must verify that eligible households under the LA Flex Scheme are in private tenure, experiencing either fuel poverty or low income, and are particularly susceptible to the adverse effects of living in cold conditions. Additionally, certain energy measures may be extended to non-fuel poor homes if a percentage of the project’s households are in fuel poverty or are living in cold conditions.
Who is eligible for the scheme?
While the specific criteria may differ between councils, LA Flex is aimed at individuals in two categories who have low incomes:
- Those falling into the category of fuel poverty, which is characterised by households spending a minimum of 10% of their net income on heating their residence.
- Those who are more vulnerable and at risk during cold weather including:
- Older people (age 65 and over)
- Households with young children (0-5)
- Pregnant women
- People with cardiovascular conditions
- People with respiratory conditions
- People with disabilities
- People with mental health conditions or learning disabilities that lowers the individual’s ability to look after themselves (including those with dementia)

Flexible Eligibility Criteria: ECO3 includes flexible eligibility criteria to ensure that a broader range of households can benefit from energy efficiency measures. This flexibility allows local authorities to identify and refer households in need of support.
Focus on Harder-to-Treat Homes: ECO3 recognises the importance of addressing harder-to-treat homes, which may face more significant challenges in terms of energy efficiency improvements. ECO4: The ECO4 scheme will run until 31 March 2026. A new Minimum Requirement (MR), ECO4 improves the energy efficiency rating of homes in bands D and E to at least band C, and those in bands F and G to at least a band D.
